Im hearing rumors that they push 205hp, then my spec sheet says 200hp, and now people are saying 210. Does anyone know the real answer, and can back it up with facts?

yes those are the official numbers, many have stated seeing 205HP on the 2000 models in some service manuals

if any of you HAVE seen this, please take a picture or scan in the info - this will put this issue to bed

would be similar to the Mustang SVO increased each year of release

I've also seen conflicting numbers... It could be possible, as the '00 has a 10.25/1 compression ratio, as opposed to the 10/1 of the '99's...

Well at AutoRama I had talked to a ford official at the performance trailer there and he had told me that the 2000's have 210 HP but the #'s are altered as on all cas for insurance issues..... which we as car people should know.... I am not sure on the other 2 yrs. but it is known to be fact by ford, the #'s are always altered on performance cars for innsurance reasons....

Mr. SVT I highly doubt that... if that is the case. The INS companies would have known about it a long time ago.

car companys have always low-balled their horsepower figures on musle cars. for example the 1970 chevy chevelle ls6 was rated at 450hp for the factory when they were actually closer to 500 hp. also in a issue of MM&FF they dyno tested a 2000 cobra R and they said that it was making around 370 rwhp, yet ford only rates the car at 385 at the engine. so it is really nothing new for the companies to lie, and as for the insurance company, they are not going to dyno test every new car that comes out, they just take the companys word.

Japan has a law that manufacturers can only advertise up to 270hp, but many cars have much more than that.

Hell I belive that. Its difficult to move ANY SVT vehicle. I sold my 95 SHO to buy a 98 Cobra, granted I have my share of accidents, but the insurance for 6 months, came out to be $7,000!

Call a insurnace company up, and then add SVT to the end of the vehicle, and watch your Price go up from a $500-$5000. Trust me im sure Ford has a difficult time moving SVTs off the lot, being there a highperformance name. I belive it.

Another fine Expamle, they have a SVT 01 Lightning running 13.9, and a Cobra running 13.8s *COUGH BULL**** *COUGH* Lightning would eat a Cobra all day, ive seen it done almost every weekend at Byron.
