I've been digging into this in the past few weeks. As you suggest, finding a cheap accumulator isn't hard - there are still some choices (e.g. some can only be mounted vertically, can choose solenoid switch to trap oil in accumulator when shut engine off). What I've had much less success with is finding a sandwhich plate. Moroso doesn't supply them. I sent an email to another company that sells a generic Ford adaptor but haven't heard back - it was $60.
