I have always wondered why the SVT is more prone to spinning bearings / eating engines than the non-SVT. A long while back I wondered if the oil cooler add-on on the SVT might eat up some oil volume or hinder oil flow.

Any chance that tapping into the oil gallery for the supercharger may have a similar effect or am I just HOC?

Glad to hear you made it home okay, good luck with the rebuild. Any thoughts of a S/C 3.0????

It could, however, have been related to the 110-115 MPH speeds we were running for 10+ minutes while playing with a new WRX, along with the 130+ MPH blast it took to show the WRX who was boss. Trapps said I flew by at a pretty good rate and he had 110-115 still showing on his speedo. I don't know for sure how fast I was going as the speedo only goes to 130 and it was much past that hitting the peg...

I will keep you all informed when I get a chance to get the pan off.

BTW, thanks to all who contributed to the "Most expensive broken parts" award. The attendees raised over $400 to help me pay 2/3 of the transport bill home on the U-haul and trailer... Thanks everyone, especially Trapps for the 4+ hours of running me all over MI looking for an available truck and trailer to rent...
