Almost certain it was a spun bearing which wouldn't be SC related in any way, rather, the lack of oil. It could, however, have been related to the 110-115 MPH speeds we were running for 10+ minutes while playing with a new WRX, along with the 130+ MPH blast it took to show the WRX who was boss. Trapps said I flew by at a pretty good rate and he had 110-115 still showing on his speedo.
I don't know for sure how fast I was going as the speedo only goes to 130 and it was much past that hitting the peg...
I will keep you all informed when I get a chance to get the pan off.
BTW, thanks to all who contributed to the "Most expensive broken parts" award. The attendees raised over $400 to help me pay 2/3 of the transport bill home on the U-haul and trailer... Thanks everyone, especially Trapps for the 4+ hours of running me all over MI looking for an available truck and trailer to rent...
