How about: Duster Pinto Golf Prius And all these cars that are just numbers/letters, come on - a little imagination please BMW, Audi, Lexus, Jaguar, Mercedes, and Volvo. At least some manufacturers add a name after a number - Ferarri 360 Modena, Porsche 911 Carrera, etc.

Damn, Pete beat me to Pinto. What about Sebring or any car named after a cloud (Cirrus, Breeze, Stratus).

Taken from www.lamborghini.co.uk quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- True to the tradition in which the bull has always been the symbol of Automobili Lamborghini, the Murciélago has been baptized with the name of a fighting bull, Murciélago, whose life was spared after a fierce fight with a Spanish matador in 1879. He was subsequently given to the breeder Don Miura and went on to father a formidable line of fighting bulls that extends down to the present day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From www.lambocars.com quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- True to the tradition in which the bull has always been the symbol of the prestigious motorcar company founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini ¾ born under the sign of Taurus, no less ¾ the management at Automobili Lamborghini have decided to baptise the latest car in the noble line with the name of a fighting bull. And so, after a succession of names linked to the world of the corrida, such as Miura, Jslero, Urraco, Bravo, Jalpa and Espada (the latter being Spanish for sword, the weapon of the matador, and thus a symbol for the matador himself) we now have Murciélago ¾ which coincidentally also means "bat" in Spanish. An unusual name, perhaps, but nonetheless one that effectively expresses the dynamism, elegance and power of the latest thoroughbred to emerge from the Lamborghini stable. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And finally from www.caranddriver.com quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enter the Murciélago (say mercy-ell-ah-go), Lamborghini's attempt to wedge a few modern standards into the preposterous template established by the Lamborghini Miura, Countach, and Diablo. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I could've sworn I saw it somewhere else that it was pronounced differently, oh well. Mike I don't doubt that a specific animal could have been Lamborghini's inspiration....it's just that the bull was named "bat" for some odd reason.

I remember when Chrysler was getting ready to introduce them, they had come up with Cirrus and Stratus and needed a 3rd name similar to the others. They were actually taking suggestions from the general public IIRC. Duh, Nimbus you idiots. I think they decided that Nimbus clouds were "too mean" (i.e. nobody that ever lived through a thunderstorm in a trailer park would ever buy one) so they chose Breeze. Nice: cloud, cloud, not a cloud. Good job sticking to the theme. My vote for worst name in a discontinued car line is Mercury Zephyr. I mean, come on. They named a car after another vehicle that isn't a car. And it wasn't even a big car to boot. (Of course, I got smoked by one running 12's but it was packing a 351 Windsor.)

Right off the top of my head:
Pulsar, Neon, any of the cloud cars, anything with grand in the name, Charade, Aspire, cars named after an action, cars with no real name (remember the VW Thing?). cars with names that resemble something you might swat at when it is crawling on the garage floor or buzzing around your head, and anything that sounds soft and cuddily.
Demon, Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, Ramcharger, Cobra. Those are good names. I mean, WTF, Insight?!?! You have insight into what? Insight into how much its going to suck when your batteries finally die? What about an Echo? Lets see, I want to drive something that is a reflection of something that was once greater. Something that will always be less as time passes.
Suzuki should have stayed building bikes. Yamaha should have built cars, fast ones. Porsche should have never even dreamed about building an SUV. The person who originally brought the CR-V to the drawing board should be beaten. Beaten almost as hard as the person who named it. I am not even going to comment on the name Rav4 or Vue. , again.

Dude! You're slamming the VW Thing?!?! That car was so cool because it was so bizarre. Someone nudges you and the shoulder ad says, "Hey look man, a Volkswagon Thing" and you look over, and see, some... thing. It's always so funny to. VW Thing is an accurate name for the vehicle. Also, Oldsmobile 88? Twas a fitting name when the cars came out, it listed the length bumper to bumper. 88 ft. Talk about steamships. Then there was the Olds 98, even bigger than the 88. Those names were an ingenius play on words. They described both the length of the car, and the average age of the driver. Hahaha And I actually like the name Camaro. It has a nice flow to the word, and a lot of history to the car. The Mustang should have been renamed when it went pussified, because the Mustang has been a gelding since Shelby stopped working on them. The Best Mustangs were Shelby's GT Mustangs. Another good fitting name, Dodge Ram. Because when you're in it, you feel like ramming anything on th road for the heck of it. Thing is a beast. (Course I drive the 3500 series, which is the big dualie, and have the Cumins deisel in there) You fire that rumbling monster to life, and the testosterone just floods your system. Heheheheh
