I think I may have found something that could save your engine in a low oil pressure situation!
Summit Racing sells this pressure switch that you screw into your block (oil gallery)and in the event of your oil pressure dropping below 7psi, it'll switch off the engine instantly and thus prevent you from destroying it. and the good thing is that it costs only $13!
