As a fairly late addition to this board, I didn't get to know Ray, but certainly his family and friends will be in my prayers.

It's all about balance.

I knew the OF for the past year and a half plus from the boards. Great and colorful man. He was always a help to the contour community. He has helped out many in his life, with GREAT feelings of joy.

Ray We do miss you! We will be thinking of you and pray for your loved ones also. Ray thanks for you care and knowldge.

Sincerely

merlin

I can't believe that he is gone. I knew he was sick for the last several months, but I kept hoping that I would see his presence grace our email inboxes and forums soon.
Ray was the pillar of the CEG community, and he was the first person that I communicated with back on the email lists. His opinions would be the "last word" in my book when it came to technical matters. We need some way to have a lasting memory of Ray. If I'm not mistaken, the throttle hang fix was invented the the OF. I propose we rename after Ray so we can pay homage to a man who guided over us and our contours.

Alex,

you are right about the TH fix. (In fact one of the last messages I wrote to Ray was about TH fix.)

Funny you should mention. The last issue of R&T in technical correspondence talks about TH in Cougar "Shifting Killjoy". Could someone with good writing skills write a letter to R&T and refer them to the site. It would be great to mention who was the author of the idea.

Want to know why I read R&T? Well I asked on the list what would be a good read and Ray mentioned R&T. That made my choice...

I miss you Ray.

I agree!

I think we should name 2 things after him
The TH fix... We can call that OF's Fix

and if we ever take an off road excursion in our 'Tours we can say "We pulled an OF"

how about it?

Ray, OF, you will be greatly missed. I would
like to extend my sympathy to Ray's family. I
hope they know how good he was to all of us.

OF was one of the most kind and knowledgable
members of the CEG list and a constant source
of assistance. It's hard to believe he's gone
and his loss should remind us all how quickly
good people can leave our side in this world.

My advice: take time to really pay thanks to
someone you respect this holiday season. The
chance to do it later isn't afforded to us in
every case... Goodbye, OF.

T.

Just returned from a week away, and hearing the news was like a punch in the stomach. Ray meant so much to this group with his generosity with his wisoom. Like so many others here, my first mod was OF's TH fix. After buying my SVT, it was all I could afford. When rediculous posts like Moser Gill and the big post on speeding tally up hundreds of replys, I would think that the replies to this thread should blow those away. Ray touched so many people on this list. May his family and friends have peace at this time knowing that ALL is right with Ray now.

Still stunned . . .
