I never met Ray in person - but I feel as if I've lost a dear friend. Anyone that can display as much caring, knowledge and a true desire to help others as he did, solely through email contact, must truly have been a great man. Me deepest condolences to his family.

Wow.....

It's tough enough for our group to lose someone like Ray - my prayers go out to his family and close friends...

I'm still on the same hair cut after losing my father to cancer and wouldn't tarnish their feelings (though I know I dearly miss my father, especially during this time of year...).

May God bless Ray and his family in their time of loss..

This is truly a great loss. I didn't know Ray, but his wisdom and his advice on cars within this forum was a great benefit to me...and to others as well. Because of Ray (and a few others), I feel "smarter" about my car knowledge.

As others have stated, Ray will be missed, but he certainly will not be forgotten. My condolences to his family and friends.

Perry posted a picture of Ray in his car in General Mods forum...

We love you, Ray.

I am, as many others, extremely saddened by the news. Ray was an
invaluable resource to the CEG community, and I got the great pleasure
of meeting him at the '99 National Meet.

Ray, may you rest in peace.

Also, Lance, if you could, put up some kind of a memoir (sp?) to go on
the Contour.org main page in memory of Ray. He was too good.

My condolences to the McNairy family.

John

My condolences go out to the McNairy family. I have known Ray through the CEG since it's near beginnings. He was a true "Contour Legend" and will be GREATLY missed here at CEG. Tears come to my eyes as I think of how much were going to miss him, and of the amazing knowledge he had for our beloved cars. We miss you Ray.

I just got home and turned on the computer. I am so saddened to hear of Mr. McNairy passing. I never met him myself but if his past postings here are any indication, I would say we lost a fine man. He was always helpful and respectful to others and that is becoming so rare these days. My thoughts go out to his family and friends in their time of grief. Just know that those of us here who knew of him, thought well of him and that the world will be a smaller and sadder place without him.

Godspeed Ray, we know you've got one of those great new Mondeos with all the goodies up there in heaven waiting for you.
