The functions of the headlights-switch are:

left of OFF: parking-lights on either left (1st step) or right (2nd step) side, depends on wich side of the road your parking.
right of OFF: 1st step parking-lights right and left, 2nd step rideing-lights
pulling the switch: 1st step front fog-lights, 2nd step back fog lights in addition to front fog lights (they usually only work with at least parking-lights (l+r) on
