Here in Kansas we have to compete with Z28's and Mustang GTs both. Oklahoma HiPos drive a lot of Z28s also.
On Christmas day last year my wife and I had to flip a U-turn on the Cimmaron Tpk in Oklahoma. I stopped on a hill and looked in front and behind me at least five times. Of course, just as I pulled out of the median, a Z28 HiPo comes out of no where. Not another car for miles!
Anyway, he pulled into the median as we passed by and we waved at each other. Just for a basis of comparison, I floored the Contour. I looked in my mirror and saw the Camaro absolutely barreling up on me. I expected that, but damn. Those things will fly.
BTW, he gave me a warning and told me I had nothing on him in straight-line acceleration. We laughed about that and I had to agree. :p
