I was one of the first to get mine back before summer on my old 95SE, but as time went by, everybody and their mother had them. I never got pulled over once driving with them. But, I recently cut one of the wires because they now look gay as hell. I will keep them on the car because I like the silver look with no light, rather than the cheap OEM black look.

I do not know about the windshied washer lights but police have been a bit ticked off about the wheel lights. I beleive ther eis a law somewhere, at least in CT that says only police can have red lights on the car other then tail lights of course. But the thing is the wheel lights are legal in CT. I like the idea of haveing the crome windshield washer to the oem one. I would definatly go with them connected to a switch, but I would connect the power source to the parking lamps or the head lights so the switch will be over ridden when you turn your lights off, and maybe forget to turn those lights off. For my driving lights I found a open fuse on the insdie panel that was hot when the ignition was on, put a fuse in and took power off of the other side.

Wheel lights are not necessarily legal, there is just not a law for them, however, if they are blue, then you fall under the blue light law. Be aware, you can put any number of any color lights on your car you want, as long as they are not on while on the road.

I bought the blue ones and I just hook them up to a toggle switch so I can turn them off and on when needed to. I like them. It looks great with my white contour.

I have mine wired to my running lights and then channelled through a toggle switch. I had blue ones which looked great but then i had some wiring problems and now i have green ones. Unfortunately i am having the same problem with the wire connecting directly to the nozzle. The solid part where it is saudered i believe. I would not recommend getting caught with them though, in Washington its 86 bucks each time.
