I DONT REALLY CARE FIT IT LOOKS "RICED OUT" JUST THAT ITS DIFFRENT. ALSO WIN SOME SHOWS.STILL NICE. WELL ANY ONE KNOW WHERE THEY GOT IT.....................LOOK AT THE PARTS ON AMERICAN CARS MAJORITY OF IT IS MADE OVER SEAS OR IN MEXICO. SO I HAVE RESPECT FOR DOMESTIC AND IMPORTS. IMPORTS ARENT REALLY IMPORTS ANYMORE. NOR ARE THE DOMESTIC. SOLD AND MADE AT THE HIGHEST BITTER.

The white one is a non-SVT built up with a buddyclub rear bumper, a wing, svt skirts, and a Skyline R33 front bumper (custom grafted) witha lip to boot. I give this kid props cause he's East Coast and cause it beats the hell out of a stock SE-look. Plus he's one of the dozen or so youngest on the CEG. At least he's active and modding his car.

The Yellow one looks to be sporting a one-off of the aftermarket Euro-bumper for the Mondeo. He's got fender flares and custom-modified skirts, shaved trunk, and custom rear bumper. Not a fan of the wing, but he's put as much into his car as any other Contour/Cougar/Mondeo I've seen to date.

Never seen the first couple of pics.

The reason these contours are being shown at "importculture" and at import car shows is because they are more a part of the import scene than they are of the big-block, drag, muscle car domestic shows. We have a cheap, Front-wheel driven V6 Ford. We get no respect from the V8 crowd. Some people actually bring their tours to those shows, but few post pics of those.

I prefer the import crowd because 1) the Contour was designed by FrodEurope, making it an import. The parts are made in South America and Taiwan then it is sent to Mexico to be assembled.

There are as many "import" cars made in the US as Fords. You just don't understand that Ford is among the cheapest POS car you can buy. The heart of their brand name is the American car, but they don't wnat you to know that most cars are built in the US today, whether their brand is associated with Japan, Germany, or whereever. Open your eyes and see that Ford isn't really a "domestic" anymore. Don't fall into the lazy-American notion that a car is either "import" or "domestic" because there is a huge variety of places where OEM parts are produced then shipped around several times to be assembled.

I would much rather look at pics of custom-painted, custom-colored, custom-bodied cars than pic after pic of a stock tour.

And btw - don't complain about needing an answer to your question: "why are these 'domestic' cars showing at import carshows?". If you look closely at the categories for almost all import carshows, there will be at least one category devoted to 'best domestic'. Its not about who made your car, but what you make your car into. If you build it to look like the trends of the import crowd, it becomes an import. If you build it to be a RWD V8, then it will fit in with the Domestic crowd. Considering the limitations (FWD, small engine bay, V6, horrible tranny) and better qualities of the tours (High output V6 or Zetec, Great chassis, Great suspension)... I think the natural tendency is to fall into the import category.

Sorry for the flame if you were not one of the people posting stupid questions, but these guys needed a little heat-suit action.

Hey - anyone wanna post pics of the HIN contour?

Heh, sad but true. frown

This is an enthusiast board. People who "like it stock" can do us all a favor and hang out at their favourite Ford dealership.
