I have an aussie friend that would give his left nut for one of those to come over here. He was going to get a Vette until I told him the Manaro might come over. He said it would be like a Vette with a rear seat. And, insurance "should" be less.
And, if the Pontiac bumpers/facia isn't to his taste, he's going to get a relative to ship over the real Manaro stuff for a conversion.
Smoothe car, I saw them in person when I was in AU in 2000.

It figures that the "old school" guys wouldn't like the use of G.T.O. but Ferrari used the name before Pontiac did. Also they went as far as to lie about the 64 GTO beating a Ferrari GTO in a Motor Trend magazine "shootout", yeah I'm sure that was some "shootout" alright. The GTO was modified by Royal Pontiac in Royal Oak MI and its a well known fact that they lied about it in the magazine. Jim Wrangler, afiliated with GM and I can't remember how right now, said as much on Speedvision during American muscle car. I pretty sure the "goat" had a 421 in it, along with other "go fast goodies" but there is now way in hell that car was going to beat a light weight V-12 Ferrari  The next G.T.O. is going to be bad ass and I hope they do a good job on it, unlike the last G.T.O. in 1974, can you say Nova

GM is notorious for blowing it on big stuff, so don't hold your breath. If Ford was smart, they'd bring the XR8 Rebel to North America. Some good competition.

If it looks like anything, it's an Avenger. But I like how it looks a lot and, with the LS1, it should rock a bit. I'd trade the Si for it.

Appealing to "old school" guys still listening to Styx/Boston and wearing Mullet hair brought GM down. They need to look past the trailer parks and offer cars the real world wants.
The new GTO will have an American made V8 engine in it, a good start. "Pontiac made" engines are gone forever, get over it. If car companies never changed, they would still be making Model T's with had crank starters.
2000 SE fleet, V6, ATX, ABS, no spoiler, T-Green/tan. Built 01/2000 in MO. Added 12 spoke factory SE rims, K&N. Biggest mod: ESP Plan!
