The (strippo) Focus LX comes with a 110HP SOHC motor, which is derived from the old Escort 4 door. This is why the Foci Folks point out that they have the DOHC Zetec.

One problem here: the Contour is no longer being made so why would Ford (or any other car company for that matter) care about whether or not the Contour pushes the envelope.

Why is it so hard to turn off the caps lock?
It's only one simple, small button...
What it looks like to everyone else is you really don't care to learn or hear what we have to say and are just here to be a nuisance... Am I wrong?
From post 1 in this thread you have done nothing but incorrectly and foolishly bash any and everything on or related to this site. Gee I can't imagine why you are getting the response you are... Then when you finally do get some constructive ciriticism and/or answers, you blow up for no reasons what-so-ever...
So either change your attitude and approach or live with the repercussions of them. It's as simple as that...
BTW - what you've posted here in this thread and what is on the link in your signature do not match. Why is that?

SOME OF YOU GUY'S ATTITUDES NEED A SERIOUS TUNE-UP! :p Sorry, my attitude came with a 100,000 mile tune-up interval and right now its only at 24,500 miles so I've got a while to go. I didn't notice any sarcasm in the advice offered. Well except me and maybe Demon but we're just like that, its nothing personal. I seriously was trying to welcome you since your first group of posts here haven't been well received.

"DOESN'T STOP THEM FROM PUSHIN' THE ENVELOPE. JUST MY $.02!"
We do not have alot of envelope expanders (but we have a few). But we have no shortage of guys who talk about it.....

Why is that?[/QB] Well "Demon" (nice name) the reason that my link does not match ceg is because I learned of this website after it was built. I never knew anyone actually beefed up Contours. NEXT TOPIC True: Ford does/did not hype up the "Contour" even when it was in production. But since when does a car manufacturer "decide" who or how a car is fixed up? My point is this-- the Focus being as marketed as it is WILL get a lot of performance parts together as far as the zetec is concerned. The Contour shares the drivetrain. So "steal" the freaking performance parts!! There is no law against a "performance transfer"!! Lots of guys use Mustang SVO performance parts to beef up T-bird Turbo Coupes and 2.3L Rangers even though these vehicles are not really marketed and the turbo-coupe is no longer made as is the SVO. Maybe I'm not being clear but all I'm saying is"THERE IS A VEHICLE THAT SHARES THE ENGINE AND IS GETTIN' HELLA ATTENTION! TAKE ADVANTAGE! TAKE ADVANTAGE! YOU GUYS ARE THE ONES WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO MAKE A NAME FOR THE CONTOUR AND THE FOCUS SHARING THE DRIVETRAIN REALLY HELPS. I THOUGHT THAT'S WHAT THIS SITE WAS ABOUT? BOOSTING UP THE CONTOUR. OR COULD I BE WRONG??

No, you're not wrong, you're spot on...and believe me us Zetec owners have been looking into all the different Foci parts available. Unfortunately we've run into problems with almost every single one of them. Throttle bodies, engine mounts, intakes, suspension, plug wires, turbo kits, headers, intake manifolds, cams, cam gears...you name it we've probably looked into it. Somethings work okay but for the most part stuff just doesn't fit right. Go browse the Zetec forum from the last year(when the Foci have grown exponentially)and you should find some of our info. Overall, we've actually had better luck matching up/using performance parts from the zx2's than anything else. Enjoy.
