Where did you visit?

I've spent a few days in Edinburgh... Beautiful town!

Went there with my mom and sister in 95. Flew from London to Glasgow and took the train to Edinburgh. We only got 3 nights in Edinburgh. Shoulda spent 5 there and only 2 in Glasgow (Glasgow wasn't touristy enough!).. Love the castle and all the neat shops and everything. Had one of the guards at the Royal Apartments get mad at me because I crossed a white line to take a picture. He brought his gun up, stomped his feet a couple times, and hollared something at me. I, very quickly, moved back!

Then went back in 96 on a high school trip, and spent a day and a half in Edinburgh. We went walking around the town the night we arrived and ran into some drunk dude talking about how the castle wasn't all that special.. We were from the Washington, DC area and told him so. He thought the Capital building in DC was so beautiful, and we thought it was just another building. Matter of perspective I guess.

Anyways. When you leave the country, I think you can fill out a form and get it validated by customs, then send the form back when you get home and get the VAT on expensive purchases refunded. Or if you have something shipped home, the shop should have a form for that as well (can't remember the details, but I got the VAT refunded on a little dragon figurine that I had shipped from Edinburgh).

2000GreenSVT: Thanx for the picture, It looks good. Did you get any gains in power or Db?
I was also thinking about a cold air shroud of some sort, is yours bought or fabricated?

Perry: Glad you liked Scotland. Unfortunately you run into one of Edinburgh's more unsavoury characters. Edinburgh is more a place for a good drinking spree I'm afraid, pub crawl up Rose Street, across to the Grass Market. I'm actually doing that next Saturday so I apologise in advance for my ramblings wink
The Castle is a sight to see at night, all lit up etc. Christmas lights are on just now in Princess Street, now that is something special. If I'm able to, I'll take some pics for you guys and let you see for yourselves.

All the best for Christmas guys, you've had a difficult few months so you deserve a Good one!

Gary.

Unsavoury? Ha! Friendly drunk walking around talking to folks, making interesting conversation.. Wasn't unsavoury to me at all! I'd type more, but don't wanna send this thread even further off topic.

That heat shield looks like the one that John Miks sells/sold. He is over in Saudi Arabia right now with the USAF and can't make the shields.
