I gave the answer to the center electrode growing....it sparks from ground to center....and takes material with it...the polarity issue...best plugs are NGK....worth the extra every time....have been using in stoc & performance/race engines for 30 years...

Most plugs ARE NOT gapped from the factory. The only plugs that are gapped are labeled are such either on the package or in the part number.
Still I would never trust the factory gap! That's just not smart or safe.

The only plugs I have seen in my experiences to be 100% correctly gapped from the factory (when labeled - see above) are NGK's & RapidFires. Rapidfires however wear out extremely fast. (not that they make them for our car, but in general)

My recommendation is NGK's.
