Searched, found aftermarket additions but no info on installing the "factory" keyless entry. confused

Does anyone know if it can be done (after getting the right parts : relay, antenna, trunk module) or has anyone done it?

Would really prefer "factory" style rather than aftermarket. laugh

Whyssat?

You'll end up spending just as much money on a system that has 50% of the features an aftermarket system would get. Hell, you can probably get a keyless entry and trunk pop system installed at Best Buy for under 2 bills.

I've installed aftermarket, had factory installed, had dealer installed.

The factory type should be "plug in" (I Hope, that's why I asked). I don't want to dig into the wiring anymore than I have to. If a factory job is as easy as plugging in a relay and programming the fob, that is easier than splicing into wires. If the factory set up is a lot a work , then I'll go aftermarket. I just don't like fooling with the electrical systems on these cars. I use mine for work and need reliability rather than fancy features. I don't need a CEL because I loosened a wire somewhere during installation. Cost wise, a JC Whitney special is only $40.
Like I said, it's not about cost.
wink

It is not just a plug in. Some things just are not practical. This is one of them. If you really have your heart set on staying factory, find a donor car in a wrecking yard with an understanding and tolorant owner. I don't even want to think about the parts cost and amount of labor to add this after it was built. If you do go ahead with it, please post about it to enlighten the rest of us.

My parents took theirs(now mine) Contour SE to have the keyless entry added at the Ford place in TN where they bought it .. The Ford place was unable to get it working so they sent it to a car audio shop and had them put in an aftermarket one at no charge to my parents.
