OK, here's what I did.
Put the oil pressure sender unit in the head location that's been discussed. HOWEVER, the sender unit that came with the Autometer guage would not fit directly into the head because of lack of clearance, so I got a 12" braided pressure line made up with the proper fittings and did a remote location of the sender, secured to something by tie straps. Works like a charm.
Oil temp unit was more involved. I dropped the oil pan, drilled out for the sender unit, and reinstalled. My meter shows oil temp runs at between 200 to 210 degrees at operating temperature. Prior to doing this install, I did read stories about the oil temp being lower there, but i have not found this to be true. And the install literature that came with the Autometer guage does state to put the temp sender unit in the oil pan.
