Its not just any old show either. It was one of the more recognized ford only show series in the country, and Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine and Classic Design Concepts are the sponsors for the show series. Alan's (Extreme LX) best paint award was one of the top 5 prizes in the show....the 3 foot tall trophy is proof that tours can hang with the big boys on lots of levels.

Look for a reference to Alan's car in an upcoming issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords in the coverage of the Peach State Fun Ford weekend.....the car may even find its way into the event's coverage spread...top cars usually do....no guarantees, but maybe. smile

Ryan's car (the red one) is also extremely nice and very intricately detailed...it took a top 10 at another regional show sponsored by NOPI about a month ago. Look for these guys...they're tuff mofo's to beat, and they'll both be @ NOPI nationals in the Contour Class.

I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out fellas...gotta find the next show!

HAHA the hood prop was actually an 18" long chrome torque wrench we just happened to have on hand...Alan wanted the hood up so folks could see his clean engine bay but not up so high as to hide the sweet paint on the hood. The torque wrench was just layin around in Ryan's car and it just happened to hold the hood perfectly!
laugh

Most Mustang fans do not like any FWD Fords. So, the low turn out and the low magazine/aftermaket support.

Too many Ford aftermarketers dismiss the "compact car tuning" industry as a fad, and only make V8 parts. MM&FF magazine had to ask their readers if they should feature Focus articles. Like they have to get permission? Why don't they just make a new magazine, if they are so afraid they will turn off hard core V8 fans?

confused

Your point is exactly why Extreme LX's win was so great...he beat out some very nicely done older fords and late model stangs to get that award....at a show that typically frowns on atypical Fun Ford cars (probe, contour, escort, up till this year the focus).

BTW, the red SVT also pictured is a multiple top 10 winner too...VERY nice...I could go into detail but its classefied....catch him @ NOPI nationals...the owner of that red SVT is the reason we have a contour class at Nopi Nationals this year....Nopi even knows about the CEG.
