that is somewhat familiar and amusing. My father used to race in the Great North Rally Series (Canadian) in the late 70s and 80s. He used to race the ice tracks with a VW Beetle with a transplanted 2.0 911 engine in the back. He said it wasn't the most stable car (particularily on ice) but it could fly. I will see if I can't find a picture.
