isn't the reason why you are risking your life because you don't have any money? looks daring and i give you credit.....but......

no money for tranny should = no money for headers....correct?

anyway - it's none of my business .....(and yes i know headers are a lot cheaper than tranny work....)

good luck with the rest of it. and yes....write a how-to! eek laugh

True,GR8svt but it was going to cost 1000 thousand in labor to drop the tranny. I could not use my credit card in that situation. I can use my credit card to get the headers. I am by far skimmping on the tranny. After it is finished it will be a mondeo level transmission. Yeah if I would have just put the bare essentials in the tranny I could have afforded to take it to the local ford dealer have them charged me 1400 in labor just to take the trans down and put it back in. Then you have to figure in the fees for letting it set on there lot for an X amount of days and then they will manage to break something on the car, maybe put some scratchs on it while their at it. In the end I am doing it myself to cut cost in labor so I can put the good stuff in the tranny clutch flywheel ETC. laugh

I took the pics off so I would have more bandwidth. My connection is slow so I am trying to squeeze every last bit out so the movie that I posted will download quicker. The Movie has a pic of your vette I think.

That's CRAZY!!! How come your jack can jack the car up that high but you don't have a jackstand that hold it up that high though?

You can't really tell but the jack has a block on top of it to equalize the preesure being put on the oil pan. We had to put a big block on top of the jacks pedestal to get the car jacked up for the second stage of blocks. The key is not to do it at once but to do it in stages. Jack the back up a little and then the front back and fourth untill you have it hight enough. We did the same thing to my 95 mustang when we converted it over to a 5speed. The contour job has been a two to three man job. The first day I disconnected all the hoses wires vaccums lines etc. The second day my brother-in-law carl and my other buddy came over. Usally one person hoisted while the other two were spotters. Actually putting the car the blocks took like 1.5 hours to do. Terry has also been a big help all the way through. Coaching us on what to remove and how to remove it the easy and fastest way. If you take everything off in steps its not that bad but if you try to go to step D before C you are going to have some problems. All in all it took us 5.5 to six hours. I can't mention enough how much terry has helped, thanks terry. Any other questions?
