Wow... not the way I would have done it... Why didn't you just rent an engine hoist and yank them both out the top? Would have been faster, safer, and easier...

I was told by a respectable mechanic that is really not recommended and you will end up breaking stuff that way. We did have a cherry picker at are disposal but we decided not to use it. We gave it a few test before we hopped under it. I got on one side and carl on the other, we pushed back and fourth pretty hard and the car still was stable. You guys are starting make me scared.I am thinkin about going on and putting some headers on what you guys think? Then again the less time I spend under the car the better chance of living I have.

I think that for safety's sake I would put something under the car with you. That way if the worst happens, that something will save you.
Your more daring then I am.

-Andy No kidding. I rather go with cheapie $10 jackstands than the nature's goodness you have there.

-Andy We were going to try to use jackstands but they were not tall enough. The pic does no justice so show how high the car is. jackstands up front might have worked but the psi that jackstands put on the body of the car worried me so we leveled the foot print out more with long and wide blocks. In the back we may have been able to use them but if the front was slightly lower or higher would have shot the jacks out from underneath the car. With the blocks being under the tires it can pivot up and down with out loosing its foot hold. I need a lift!
