OK what is the most weight you think we could get out of the contours? these are a few things i can think of getting ride off.
  • truck stuff
  • back seat parts
  • all in side stuff like door covers and roff covers
  • carpet
  • parts of dash like HVAC
  • pasinger seat
  • replace driver seat with race seat
After we add all that up what do you think it could weigh? any one know about the weigh to 1/4mile time ratio? i read that about 13lbs = 1hp. just think hear so no flaming.

Ditch factory seats in favor of lighter "racing" seats. Add a 4 or 5 point harness and ditch the air bags, associated parts and sensors.

If you are really serious, strip 100% of the interior, ditch all motors in favor of mechanical devices (door locks, window motors). Next would be to replace all the windows with TFAL Flexan or other lightweight glass alternative. These modifications are not for daily driven vehicles.

SVT ~2900lbs
SE ~2825lbs
Zetec ~2750lbs

Without going plain nutz and acid dipping panels, grinding down chassis, interior trim panels, ground effects, etc...

That would be dumping power accesories (Seats & windows mainly!), stripping trunk, inner sound insulation, replace stock exhaust from the engine back (35+ lbs), battery (~35lbs right there with a Dyna-batt), hood, etc...

Don't forget the wheels - a nice set of racing wheels to reduce unsprung weight can make a noticeable difference over stock. Replacing some of the body panels (hood, trunklid, etc) with fiberglass or carbon fiber is also possible (but expensive). Keeping the gas tank on the lower side of half is an easy weight-loss helper. Also - fill the tires with Helium instead of air - j/k laugh

i talked to the Engeiner that disigned the contours dash. he works at Textron Automotive. he is a member of my robotices team. any how he said that they weighted the tour befor any of the inside stuff was there. this was just bare as can be to drive. not even a seat. was not designed yet. but yea he said something like 2500. but he was not sure. he is going to look in to it for me.

I have started already. took out all trunk stuff spare and jack. about 10 lbs.
