All speculation here, but I doubt if metal would be a good insulator. It would probably help some, but I wouldn't look for great gains from it. Looks nice though!
I looked at it as well, but like KAI said I think its more for asethetics than functionality. Just doesn't look like it would shield much heat. Might actually add to it.
Again just my speculation. It does look very nice though
It looks like it would do a good job shielding from radiation. It's probably very highly reflective to thermal radiation on the outside and not very emissive on the inner surface.
