Is that guy with the red SVT From Chattanooga? I see that car all the time here. Have to admit, I've been witing for a chance to suck wing right off his trunk. :-)

the mustang race was great. It's a 5pd GT right?? A friend of mine has one, I told him I wanted to race from a roll say like 30 in second gear. But, from a dead stop it didn't look like he got you that bad!!! Give me details! What RPM did you launch at?? How many cars did he get you by? Do you think you would have been able to regain that space if you had more room?? I have raced my buddy in his 01 gt and he made me look like I was standing still. They will not only leave you from the start but they will leave you from a roll. The new mustang is a diffrent breed of 4.6 that runs sub 14's all day long. On top end it doesn't run out of breath like the five liters would. The only place that i would race a new gt would be on a road course. I am sure there are many contours faster than mine but I still don't see them beating 99 on up gt. Not flaming just trying to save you some gas and rubber.

It's just the whole " Yeah well I got a mustang.." Mentality, I'm up for a little fun and showing some people that my car is not a slouch, and I only paid 14k for it! I expect to be beaten...Even though his 01' GT 5spd only cost about 23k!!

Your exactly right about the whole price thing and even though I have mustang I don't have the mustang mentality. I much rather cruise in my tour and have a good time. It seems like when I take my mustang out everyone wants too race and I am not about that. When I raced the mustang we ran for 7 tenths of a mile and at the end I was shifting into overdrive he wasn't pulling on me anymore. I still believe if you were to come up by one on the interstate while doing 80 and you downshift to third I don't think they would pull by much but interstates aren't safe places to race IMHO.

Man, after fooling around with Burg's mustang this weekend, I want one even more. I think its wishful thinking for a CSVT to catch a new GT.
Burg, maybe we should go up 985 and do a run from an 80 mph roll to see how bad you beat me there.
Guys, there's no way...that stang is a beast. A power adder or tweaked 3.0 is the only chance to beat a stang.
I wish I had a stang that everyone wanted to race. What's the problem with that?

It's fun for a while to race a Z28 or another mustang but after while you just get irratated and you get tired of raggin your car out. Mustang owners are nothin like contour owner exception of me and a few others on this board. When a contour driver pulls up to another contour driver its usally like hey nice rims or just complements in general. If its mustang you pull up beside and you have a mustang they just stare you down and as soon as the light turns green its balls to the wall look out that SOB gonna cut ya off. With a venom kit on the tour I could see takin a GT out but then all the Gt would have to do is go get gears and for 200 dollars and drop another 1/4-1/2 second off its times. ITs just a damm mod war that the tour can't win.

Burgman,
Nice ride. I like the color too. I almost got Mineral Gray on my Cobra. Good luck with it.
