Hi, I'm brand new to this group. This is very similar to focaljet.com if any of you look at their website. I come to you all for some help in finding a 2000 SVT Contour short shifter. I plan on taking the shifter and installing it on my Focus for a shorter throw, but I can't locate one. If any of you have replaced your stock short throw and are willing to sell me yours, hit me up at my email: yellowfocus@hotmail.com
By the way, I got the idea after reading my mom's SVT Contour manual and found out we have the same transmission. Thanx for all who reply and thanx for letting a Focus guy and his SVT mom join the group!!!

Get a B&M, it was actually made for the Focus, and luckily it fits the Contours too. Check the Group Buy, there were a couple of them growing last week. You won't regret it!!

You can also use the shifter on a normal Contour. They advertise a short shifter on the SVT, but it's no shorter than a regular Contour. You can probably get em fairly cheap from a junk yard.

I've been checking junkyards around Denver but to no avail. Anybody got an aftermarket one and want to sell their stock SVT one?

Check the Ford pt #'s first,there are around 3-4 'levels' of shifter for the cable shift Contours & Cougars,they are not all the same.

Ok, so if your correct, my mom's shifter might not fit on my car, right? We have the same tranny, but I like the shorter (1.5" shorter, I measured) throw for the racer in me. I hate the B&M. A few guys in our focaljet.com: 5280 group have them and I think they look like crap, plus a lot of them are breaking. Just looking for a shifter like my mom's so I can have a shorter throw. Looking in the price range of around $30-$40. BTW, my mom would KILL me if I even touched her car!!!
