was the metal cone still in tact on the backside of the water pump housing? make sure you check that. just putting another pump in will only temporarily solve the problem if that metal cone has come loose. the ford oe pump gives you the whole assembly, including the backside housing with a newly pressed in plate, and a whitish colored impeller. ill be doing mine come spring.
It was still intact on mine. When JVT's pump wore out, That was the cause. After a few attempts to get that cone thing to stay put, we just decided to take it out and see if it would overheat. So far so good. Have to wait until summer to see if it still works OK without it.
