OK, I'm not even going PRETEND to know how variable timeing works- but I DO know that it is good for a fistful of extra ponies, right?
I read somewhere (here, I think) that Mazda's "Mondeo" will sport a 3.0L Duratec V6- same as the Escape and Tribute, except it'll be equipped, ironically enough, with "SV-T" (ford's version of VTEC, i guess) . Good for about 20 extra ponies IIRC.
Sorry so long winded, but can this be applied to our cars when doing a 3L swap?
Maybe a better question would be: What extra steps need to be taken to equip 3L Contours with "SV-T". Cool, you could then have an SVT SV-T.
