Ya know, it's not your car. You may not like him, you may not respect him. Fine that's your choice, but then the post you made here in my eyes puts you at a lower level than him.

Ever hear of just looking the other way? Maybe he couldn't afford an SVT, or maybe gee.. there wasn't one available? So he might be doing the next best thing to him and personalizing his car to his tastes and trying to make it as much of a SVT as he could.

At least he's trying, I looked at yours, seems like you just keep yours clean. Want to bet he spends more time working on his car trying to make it better?

I think I'd rather go be with people like him, at least he's trying.

And not everyone in NJ is like me. I think I will go hang out with the "LOSER" as you put it.

i can see where you're coming from, but i have to agree with dave on this one. what has more time and effort put into it? his car, or an essentially stock "clean" car. that might not be the exact scenario, but see what i'm saying? i have to give the guy props for doing what he's done. sure, he might be a bit misinformed, but he's put some effort into trying to make his car look nice. also, it says nowhere on his page about it being an svt. he specifically mentions he has a sport. take it easy.

Ok, so maybe I was a little (or a lot, which ever way you want to put it) out of line. But the bottom line is that you should not make your car look something that is not. Putting the SVT badge on any car that is not an SVT is just wrong. Just like I see many here saying that all those Civic DX that have SI badges (or stickers what ever) should be burned and sent to hell, I say the same thing on any contour owner that tries to make their car an SVT. I am all for anyone to have the body kit. Just like this guy that has the red pre-98 SE, that molded the front bumper to this car, added side skirts and the rear bumper. His car looks very sweet and I give him two tumbs up for that. Now, did he put the SVT badge on his car? NO!
And to this kid that has his SE with SVT and ST200 badges, I'm sorry dude, didn't mean to be rude, but you have to try to keep it real. Don't go adding a name that doesn't belong. If you want the SVT body kit, go ahead, put it on, they do look awesome. Hope their are no hard feelings.

Now, for the NJ thing, I was born here and this state is not what it used to be. Probably some people don't like to hear it but NJ has become a (term I rather not put up here as not to hurt anyone else) &^%$%%&.
I am not going to start a war with anyone here, that is not what I want. Just to point out that NJ is not a good place to live. Some have come up defending NJ but you guys don't live here and you must have your reasons. Personally I am really planning to move out in the next year or so.
I'm out.

I do live here. And NJ isn't really any worse than anywhere else in this country. As for the badging.. there are thousands of SS Camaros, Hemi Cudas etc etc that are not real. This is nothing new, and if people want to try put them on fine. I know what I have, and to be honest, I think it's more flattering that people want to have what I have. And therefore imitate it.

Good luck wherever you move to and I'm glad you've changed your tone. He didn't deserve what you had done. Respect the attempt if not the result.
