I got 1097xx on my 96 GL. I only saw the temp gauge go that high when the water pump died  Guess it's a zetec thing??
Every time I come online I wonder if the forums will be up

It bothers me that they had to put another number in front of the other 5!! Why can't they just let it roll over to 0 like the really, really old cars did!! It's disturbing...  Course now it's all going to that computer readout so it's just the same!

Mine doesn't run that hot. The hottest I have ever seen mine run is halfway between the L and the H.

Mine used to run that hot...and then the w/p started leaking and before I knew it I was bumping the red!! Got that fixed, though, and now she sits at about O and R unless I drive the piss out of her and suddenly get caught in traffic or at a light; then she heats up to about the A and/or L...

Mine use to read at the A and L until I replaced the thermostat. Now it's lucky to get up past the O!!

My just got its coolant flushed and the t-stat changed. I boiled the new and the old ones, both worked just fine. Its always up there though, temp wise.
