Who is your ISP?
I get 10MB of space for my own personal webpage through Earthlink. I got tired of the Photopoint/Fototime/who's next runaround of "It's Free/No it ain't." I built a simple web-page, posted a few pics, and they display fine as an image in these forums. (Click on the "house" to see it.)
