Most anything you would ever need to be done can be done in Paint Shop Pro. There's a shareware version, good for 30 days er somethin.
Photoshop wasn't designed for the average user, it's designed for people in the graphics business, that need a powerful tool to do their work.
If Adobe dropped the price to $100, like Paint Shop Pro, it'd probably sell a whole lot more copies (I know I'd buy it) and more than make up for the money they're losing by not selling it at $600.
