Forget about that SVT 'tour... e-brake 180's are fun and all but drifting requires a RWD car baybee... Find an open parking lot, apply copious amounts of throttle, crank the wheel and stay on the throttle... Close eyes and scream in terror, your're drifting!! Then try again with eyes open and try to control the beast. Some cars are easy to drift, others require very skillful handling...

Rara, it isn't about speed, it's about "drifting". They couldn't care less if it took all day to make a lap. The point of the excersize is to show control through excessve drifitng. It's cool

I'm well aware of that Stazi, my comment still stands though. It may look really cool and be really fun, but it ain't the way to get around a track fast, so it isn't really racing.
That said, I still love to watch it and all that, I'll even hang the tail out myself on a rwd car on a occasion just for fun laugh

I guess my real point was that a lot of these guys into drifting really do think that it is the fastest way around a track.

It's all about balance.

You're absolutely right. The important thing is they don't think it's racing either. They look at it like ballet or dancing, they simply get judged on form, not on time!

Not in Japan. Wannabes over her in North America maybe, but Japanese folk think of it as pure art, nothing to do with racing.

With RWD and a balanced car, it's pretty easy. With our cars, trail braking or even throttle lift oversteer is posible, but that's hardly drifting.

i emailed this to a friend of mine..he races RCCA
we always talk about drifting...he used to be addicted to this old racing video game...i think it was on playstation 1..i forget the name of it, but if you made it to the end you had to race against the "drift king"

well anyway....this is what he wrote back
and so you understand it i have to tell you about "O"
we were both students, and now employees at the Univ. of Pittsburgh, and between here and some of the other universities around there are a lot of asian/oriental students and teachers.
so since we are both lazy and oriental is a long word, we shorted it to "O"
we always have nicknames and shortened works for eveything.

here is what he wrote back..i thought it was pretty funny
and for anyone who doesn't know bitty=chick

----The bitty O!!!!! That's what I'm talking about! But my question is if they
can do that, why can't any O over here parallel park? Do they kick the
people who can't drive out of the country?
