well when I said trigos- obviously I ment the repro ones- the originals as stated were halibrands- and they were not used for very long on eithr gt-40 or Cobra- the supplies just dried up and that is why Pete Brock designed the sunburst wheels for the 427 Cobra cars. The Early 289 Cobras had Mag FIA style. the original GT-40's race and road had borrani Wire wheels. They switched after too many failures and the torque wall of the 427.
I envy you for your ride in the MKII I have only just sat in 1009. We do NOT have a J-car. We would be obtaining a MKIV in the future if we can negociate for it. The J-car program was not terminally cancelled after the Miles crash- but I believe three J-cars were built. J-3 was rebuilt to MKIV specs- J-4 was the first built as the first KMIV- J-5-8 as MKIV and J-9&10 were Can Am variants of the MKIV J-11-12 were built up of spare chassis in the 1980's.
J-3 and J-6 are actually used on the street- and are complete street spec.
the other Variant of the GT-40 was the Mirage- built by John Wyer. three were completed M10001-10003 and M10003 was rebuilt as a GT-40PM10002 was wrecked and destroyed.
