Sandman -- I have driven down I-355 up here near Chicago and my radar detector has showed laser before. Laser is the killer based on what you say -- it's fast, idiot-proof, and there is no advance warning like there is with some radar guns. What is this VASCAR thing? I think it has something to do with them clocking you (time-wise) over a measured distance and then it's simple math to figure out your speed. Am I right?
Also, another question Sandman. Once I was driving behind someone doing 25 in a 50 zone. I immediately sped around them at wide-open throttle. But I stopped once I reached 50, the speed limit. Is that drag racing? Or what if I simply am driving and say "oh what the hell" and I floor it up to the speed limit but no more? I asumme that is 'drag racing' because you mention 'to beat the clock'. My father calls it 'exhibition of acceleration'.
In comment to your fun run, I think you guys are fighting a losing battle. Drag racing is at the judge's discretion, you're wasting your time to argue it. Just plead guilty and plead for community service or whatnot.
