well americans did have a monopoly in cuba, he was only removing US corporations from his country, as a leader i think he's allowed to do that. It was basically america's get away until castro said no more. I mean the guy before him was the despot, castro (to cubans) is a liberater. The other guy was an oppressor

Fidel may be an unapologetic Communist & bloodthirsty, dictatorial tyrant, but he's not stoopid.
He knows full well the U.S. has evidence proving his Cuban regime has been a sponsor of terrorism, as well as providing training & other logistic support of various terrorist groups for decades.
He's just doing what any despotic terrorist sympathizer would be doing right now; e.g. covering their own complicit azz.
