I have a couple questions:
1. What paint did you use and where did you get it? (a part #, name would be great!) Also is it a matte/flat silver or a shiny/chrome silver?
2. How did you fill the holes behind the emblem?
3. How many coats of primer/paint/clearcoat/etc/ did you use (or not use) and how did you apply it?
4. Finally, what paint did you use on the SVT emblem and how was it applied?

I must say the grill is very creative and unique, a GREAT idea.

1. The paint I bought at Wal-Mart. I believe it's a silver finish, and a aluminum type finish. I'm not sure which one I used. Buy both of the paints, and see which silver you like more. ($4 a piece)

2. The holes I filled with bondo. On the back of the grille I superglued a piece of plastic over the hole so the bondo wouldn't fall through, then applied bondo on the front. Sanded it down, and just painted it straight with the Wal-Mart paint. No primer used whatsoever. It's been holding up just fine. (4-5months with NO sign of chipping or cracking)

3. The SVT emblem I bought off of Sujeet Patel (officer cartman). I wanted to do the same thing, but just couldn't find the time, then I saw he was selling it, so I bought it.

What you do is sand off the chrome off of the emblem (wherever you can) starting from say 400 grit to a 1000 grit. Then you do a coat or two of primer, then paint it flat black paint (no shine). Not sure if you necessarily *HAVE* to do the primer, but I guess it makes the paint hold a little better.

Hope this helps. I'll try to get the part # for the silver paint for you later today.

John

My apologies for those waiting for the movies and larger pics, I've been very busy. I'll try to get them on later tonight or tomorrow.

The Konigs. I curbed two of them, and I'm selling the other two.

John, very classy. I love how water looks on a Zaino'd car. I noticed the Z7 bottle too.

How about sidemarker lights instead of the big 24V badges?

I think all you need is the tint and sidemarkers... what a purdy car!

Does NC require the front plate? I see you don't have it and I'd love to take mine off and get the holes filled once I move down there.

I can comment on the Kumhos as I have the Ecsta Supras on my car in 235/40/17 size. They suck. I hate mine and hate the fact that I spent money on them. If I wouldn't take it in the shorts to sell them, I'd be riding on something else right now. Straight line traction sucks, even for a low profile tire. In a corner, I couldn't get it to plow more if I painted it John Deere green and drove through a corn field. Stopping is only adequate due to the shear size of the tire vs. weight of the car. My previous 225/50/15" Bridgestone Potenza RE71 on stock alloys were far superior in every quality. mad I guess the Kumhos have a cool tread pattern though

Nice ride and very cool pics once again John! laugh

LOL. Thanks Brad.

You see, I think they're decent because I was coming from 16" wheels, and BFG VR4s, which, um, aren't exactly 'performance' tires.

Again, for the money, I won't complain as I couldn't afford anything else at the time. I'll be buying something different next time just to try it out. Nitto 450s are my choice as of now.

Not sure if I like sidemarkers or not. If I get any, they'll be pretty damn small.

Eric, NC doens't require front plates. Thank God. Contour + front plate = FUGLY.

small enough?

The A6 ones are about 1/2 the height and 2/3 the width of the 24V badge.
