I have a couple questions:
1. What paint did you use and where did you get it? (a part #, name would be great!) Also is it a matte/flat silver or a shiny/chrome silver?
2. How did you fill the holes behind the emblem?
3. How many coats of primer/paint/clearcoat/etc/ did you use (or not use) and how did you apply it?
4. Finally, what paint did you use on the SVT emblem and how was it applied?

I must say the grill is very creative and unique, a GREAT idea.

1. The paint I bought at Wal-Mart. I believe it's a silver finish, and a aluminum type finish. I'm not sure which one I used. Buy both of the paints, and see which silver you like more. ($4 a piece)

2. The holes I filled with bondo. On the back of the grille I superglued a piece of plastic over the hole so the bondo wouldn't fall through, then applied bondo on the front. Sanded it down, and just painted it straight with the Wal-Mart paint. No primer used whatsoever. It's been holding up just fine. (4-5months with NO sign of chipping or cracking)

3. The SVT emblem I bought off of Sujeet Patel (officer cartman). I wanted to do the same thing, but just couldn't find the time, then I saw he was selling it, so I bought it.

What you do is sand off the chrome off of the emblem (wherever you can) starting from say 400 grit to a 1000 grit. Then you do a coat or two of primer, then paint it flat black paint (no shine). Not sure if you necessarily *HAVE* to do the primer, but I guess it makes the paint hold a little better.

Hope this helps. I'll try to get the part # for the silver paint for you later today.

John
