I raced a GT off the line at back to back lights and one by a car length each time. They are quick but can't hang with a mostly stock SVT and wouldn't even be worth racing against a Supercharged or 3 liter SVT. :rolleyes:
And dead, you might wanna work on that first impression thingy a little more. We get people doing that all the time on this sie and it gets a little old.
And get an SVT! they are still around on dealer lots. probably not new though.

I CARTESTed (ver4.5)each and came out with:
1997 Ford Probe GTS 0-60: 7.8 sec 0-100: 20.2 sec 1/4 mile: 15.8 @ 88.6mph top speed: 133mph
1998 Ford Contour SVT E0 0-60: 7.5 sec 0-100: 19.5 sec 1/4 mile: 15.6 @ 90.3mph top speed: 138mph
2000 Ford Contour SVT E1 0-60: 7.3 sec 0-100: 19.0 sec 1/4 mile: 15.5 @ 91.1mph top speed: 139mph
1998 Ford Contour GL automatic 0-60: 9.5 sec 0-100: 31.2 sec 1/4 mile: 17.5 @ 79.0mph top speed: 116mph
1995 Ford Contour SE manual 0-60: 7.7 sec 0-100: 20.0 sec 1/4 mile: 15.7 @ 88.8mph top speed: 136mph
1995 Ford Contour SE automatic 0-60: 7.8 sec 0-100: 21.6 sec 1/4 mile: 16.1 @ 87.3mph top speed: 134mph
these figures are pretty acurate, but there's always a margin for error... in the real world, these times can/will be better or worse, depending on who's driving and the condition of the car.

shouldn't it be pretty close to the 98 GL atx? if you know the weight difference (if any) between those years, I can get more specific stats. curb weights would help the most, so I can adjust the other models too. CARTEST has the weight for the 98GL ATX as 2950lbs. I don't know how accurate this is. Sometimes you have to fine-tune some stats to get more accurate. also wheel/tire sizes would help. any other requests? I like comparing cars...

I think the Se in 95 had the duratec.....Mine has 15" stock 6 point rims. If that makes any difference.

ok, I dropped the Zetec into a 1995 SE atx and dropped about 60lbs since it's a 4 cylinder. I think the 98GL atx stats would be more accurate. I don't know how accurate this is but it came out with:
0-60: 9.7 0-100: 30.7 1/4 mile: 17.5 @ 79.1mph top speed: 121mph lateral accel: .83g
it rates the Zetec at 125hp/130ft-lb, is that right? I always thought it was higher...
