it's a rally car. no leather.
it's a rally car. no sunroof. compromises structual design.
im considering trading in my SVT for a new silver WRX, with the guage pack, carbon fiber dash and window/lock button trim, and the upgraded wheels. i can get it out the door for 26,500. problem with buying it:
1- i love and hate the look of it, for obvious reasons.
2- it's limited to 130mph, 13 mph slower than the SVT, not that I drive that fast ever but you want to know that you could...
3- insurance. much higher than the SVT, at least in Los Angeles.
4- I would miss my sunroof, but they are really serious about not offering one. the one in santa monica I was looking at does not have one, but an aftermarket sunroof on a blue one I saw looked cool, but was 1200 bucks.
5- higher sidewalls, slower in slalom than the SVT by 3.5 mph.
6- Brakes are very subaru-like. no vented back discs and the pedal was mushy. But wow, that clutch and tranny was tight.
I got to beat on the demo a little bit, and it was very similar to ours, the turbo really kicks in at 3k, similar to the secondaries opening at 3400-3900 in the 'tour. i felt pushed back more in the WRX, but without that v6/exhaust snarl, I didn't realize i was going as fast as I was.
what number am i up to now? oh yeah.
7- the 0-60mph only takes 2 gears, and you can run almost to 65mph in 2nd before the shift. maybe if the SVT had the WRX's gear ratios it wouldn't seem so much slower on paper.
I dunno what to do. Im torn. I still owe *gasp* 16k for the tour, paid sticker for it because I got the last one on the lot which ended up in a bidding war. what a dumbass I was. I don't think I have negative equity but man, I won't walk away from the SVT with much (if any) cash in my pocket.
What to do...what to do...
