I'm not sure how the Contour's T/C system works. It can be done by applying the brake and using the ABS sensors, limiting power (cutting injectors), or both. But, Jason F. is right, if you have the ABS modual, you have all the hardware you need. Cutting injoectors is purely software.
Personally, I think TC is a waste on a manual trans FWD car.

That only applies to pre 98 vehicles which had a electromechanical TC system. The 98 and newer vehicles have a completely electronic system that does not affect the TB. That is why newer vehicles can have the SVT TB installed, even if equipped with TC.

The wiring was already there for the switch, but it was already known that it had TC, prior. The traction control light lighting up in the gauge cluster, when the front tires were loosing traction in wet conditions, and during initial drive clean testing, were dead give aways.
The switch was added at a later date. Ok, besides the light, how else can you tell if you have it or not?

Ok, I popped out the blank button cover, and I was so happy it was there. I didn't believe you at first "Sorry" ....
But, I order the switch from Ford, but I was wondering something. I looked in my Owners manual, and they showed that the Rear Defogger button on the right, and the TC Button on the left. My Rear Defogger button is on the left. What part # is the correct switch? Thanks

That's the way mine is, TC on the left, defrost on the right

The buttons are attached together in one fixture, pulling the fixture out reveals two wiring harnesses, one to the defroster and one to the blank button. You'd have to get the ford fixture that handles both defroster and TC buttons, or you could rig it, which can't be hard I'd just hate to screw up and fry it, though I'd love to see if it works first before getting the 20 dollar piece that might not work.
