After seeing how the MTX-75 shifts like on a 2000 Contour, I decided that I might try to do the tranny cocktail. But, I'd like to know if the friction modifier is really necessary? Anyone tried to use just ATF fluid without the friction modifier? I have a gut feeling that local dealers don't stock these things.
