...not get a Bravada. I read that thread on the Excursion getting the axe, and you guys are right. I have no use for a Bravada. I'd be the only one driving it, the cargo area would get hardly ANY use at all. My mom and I were VERY close to buying a black one for me last week, and the payment would have been around $700/month. I've seen all the work you guys have done to your vehicles, and I plan on making mine as good as I can get it also laugh I've started to make a list of stuff I want to do to it, so hopefully it'll turn out as good as I hope laugh

I was holding my breath. I really thought you were going to get a Bravada, and to be honest with you I had a hard time sleeping last night. I'm just glad you...actually, your mom...made the decision so I could think about something else.

No, I made the decision myself, my mom thinks I'm crazy. "If I had the chance to get that kind of vehicle at your age, I would have taken it without a question!" ...sure...her first car was a brand new Ford Elite with every option they had back then...even power sunroof...then again, she said the sunroof never worked so...anyway, she had no influence in my decision smile

What the hell DO you do that you could possibly afford a Bravada?

No, the money wasn't the issue. What caused us NOT to get the Bravada then was they wanted to give only $2500 for the Mystique in trade in...I said no way. My mom would have paid for the Bravada, as her parents paid for her Elite. Also, after I've thought about it, the fenders on the Bravada sounded REALLY tinny when I knocked on them, the handling wasnt good at all compared to the Mystique (duh), and even the ride wasnt as good as the Mystique, which honestly surprised me. The good things about the truck is it has PLENTY of power, a pretty good factory stereo (Bose with in-dash CD changer), and it had good cup holders (I always have to have a Pepsi when I drive). Yeah, it would have been nice, but the Mystique will be more fun, and if I work on it myself, I'll be more proud because of the fact that I DID do it myself.

Moonlight,
I see a "for me" in there; does that mean that mom and dad were buying and making the payments for you? If so, they're really very generous and kind parents! As compared to us when we bought our oldest son a 76 side step F back in 93 and gave our daughter and youngest son 60k mile hand-me-downs; which weren't bad deals back then for them.
Be well and mod that car, but save for your next vehicle as well.
