Mani, you must be high. It is easy to take the so-called high road in Canada. The fact hs been presented already, but your nation enjoys an enviable position: you really do NOT pay for your defense. NO ONE is going to attack Canada due to your alliance with America. We are NOT the "cowboy", but rather your brothers. And the whole damn world knows it.
Isolationism is pointless and a suicide wish. See WWII. Proactive action is a far greater guarentee to safety than waiting to give a reaction. I have never been one for waiting for the other man to throw the first punch, WTF does that get you but a bloody nose, or in this case thousands of dead Americans.
Iraq IS a sponsor of terrorism. Saddam has chosen his position, he may live with the consequences.
Support of Israel IS the MAIN point of contention among Islamic nations. I am not willing to drop our support in light of the support they give us in the region. Israeli pilots flew alongside ours in the Gulf War. I give them a big THANK YOU, and have no problem watching the back of the only democracy in the region.
Iraq will use ABC weapons against Israel and other enemies. Why the hell else are they building them? Not for deterence, as in USA v. USSR. They have NO current enemy in the region other than Israel and the West.
Hit first, hit hard, hit decisively. And dump Colin Powell, he has done more to placate Palestian terriosm than any one in the Clinton administration. Also, he was the driving influence in Bush Sr.'s ill-fated decision to not achieve a real victory with Iraq the first time around.
I for one do not accept waiting around to see who screws us next. Bush gave the warning in September. Time to follow through.
