I think if Canadian civilians and military forces were the targets of the terrorists, you'd have a diffent view. Most of the problems stem from the U.S. support of Israel. After that it is our continued presence in Saudi Arabia. I don't think that you can deny that it is the right thing to do defending Israel...and for that matter Taiwan and South Korea. We have our noses into Saudi Arabia because they saw the potential for another Arab nation to invade them for their oil reserves. Who did they turn to? The U.S. We struck an alliance that benefitted both nations. They got U.S. military hardware on the cheap & our committment to protect them in the event of a war, and the U.S. got a guarantee that we would never be held hostage for oil again (oil embargo or the '70s). Our interest in Saudi Arabia has irked the radical Islamic fundamentalists. They see it as the Western infidels infecting they're holiest of holy lands.
