See... The biggest problem is you guys think your the cowboys! Nobody wants you to safeguard anybody do they? The U.S. takes side in each war and helps one out for its own sake... Lets say two kids are fighting for their own reason and you go pick one of them because he has a lot of toys and you can be friends with him (good oppurtunty right?) and then beat the other guy up. Is that fair? If you want to be the COWBOY why not help the both sides? Try to make peace? Whats with this bulls.hit you guys are writing here this is the funniest and SADEST stuff I have read! Once again your not gonna get enemies by just doing nothing!
Instead of being the COWBOY going around helping out other countries go help out the homeless in your own country, does that sound too hard to do? Or you get nothing out of it? Or you guys don't have any homeless? :rolleyes:

The United States will protect itself and its interests whenever and where ever necessary. We would MUCH rather do business with someone than kill them. Dead consumers are bad for business.\

Point me in the right direction. I fail to remember the last time we simply stormed into their country and killed some people for no reason?

Unless I'm missing something, the author is angry because:
- The US only defends its own interests, not necessarily those of other countries
- The US press didn't publish articles about how much collateral damage occurred during the campaign

The first point is true. The second is false (I remember getting angry at some of the articles that criticised the amount of civilian damage).

The author has no legitemate gripe. He's trying as hard as he can to justify his hatred for the US.

Does 2000 to 8000 people count?

Tried that - didn't work too well prior to WWI or WWII.

Not sure what the problem is... Sept. 11 prompted the US to take action against Taliban operatives... many of whom were killed. Or are we to assume that all 8000 were innocent bystanders?

I think we should just agree to disagree. We have two completely different perspectives on the subject.

I think if Canadian civilians and military forces were the targets of the terrorists, you'd have a diffent view.

Most of the problems stem from the U.S. support of Israel. After that it is our continued presence in Saudi Arabia. I don't think that you can deny that it is the right thing to do defending Israel...and for that matter Taiwan and South Korea.

We have our noses into Saudi Arabia because they saw the potential for another Arab nation to invade them for their oil reserves. Who did they turn to? The U.S. We struck an alliance that benefitted both nations. They got U.S. military hardware on the cheap & our committment to protect them in the event of a war, and the U.S. got a guarantee that we would never be held hostage for oil again (oil embargo or the '70s). Our interest in Saudi Arabia has irked the radical Islamic fundamentalists. They see it as the Western infidels infecting they're holiest of holy lands.
