This is no longer even a worthwhile thread.
I will be honest, I will not type out long answers time and time again, especially when the subject has been recently covered in depth.
The FAQ and the Search function are fantastic (or is that Jantastic?) tools that Lance has so kindly thought ot include on the board, for the Newbie and the Veteran alike. I constantly am using the search, even if I am just pondering a subject and have no real question in mind.
I can easily see a newbie not being aware of the search or the FAQ (though it is mentioned on the front page of the site) and that is why Newbies are kindly directed towards the FAQ and search, heck, they are there, and good, so why not use them!!! We have veteran members though, that sometimes, are too lazy to investigate on thier own, and want others to post long replies to solve thier problem, while they make little to no effort to find the solution themselves.
I am very willing to help out those on this board, as I think I have clearly shown in my time here; but those who refuse to even put up the slightest effort on thier own part really bother me. Why should I waste my time on your problem if you are not even willing to yourself?
But, by the same token, there is no excuse for being a prick to a newbie (though IMHO veterans are fair game! they should know better :D)
