Mike, what credentials do you have in the field of economics? or world history? or world politics?
"The US has the least expensive skilled automotive labor force in the world" - are you out of your mind?!!!!!!!
With wage rates, health insurance, unemployment insurance contributions and other benefits, the US autoworker is probably the best compensated in the world! The reason why Jap and other companies do business here is because of productivity and government incentives, i.e., tax breaks, etc.
The $500 billion per year trade deficit is a reality and testament to the extent we rely on foreign goods and how little the rest of the world buys from us. Many American products are virtually banned from import into protectionist Japan for example, especially automotive products. The rest of the world certainly does not play by the same rules as we do, why should we?
As Buchanan's view on intervention in areas such as Kosovo: "We have no vital interest in that blood-soaked peninsula"...he is absolutely right!!
Have you you checked out what has gone on there since the illegal Nato invasion?
Thousands of Serbs and other non-Albanians have been killed or assaulted, hundreds of Christian churches have been desecrated or destroyed and what remains of the "minority" is forced to live in virtual ghettos! All because we supported the bin Laden backed narco-terrorists, NOT freedom fighters as the gullible American people were led to believe by our puppet media. It was and still is a disgrace and crime what the US and Europe did to the Yugoslavian people and we should all be ashamed!
"No nation has ever undergone so radical a demographic alteration and survived," he said - also correct! While countless other countries have suffered civils wars because of diversity, we are embracing it the the massive waves of immigrants form third world countries! In fact, IIRC, eight of the top ten countries where immigrants to the USA originate are third world.
Diversity didn't work in the USSR/Russia, Yugoslavia, Rwanda, Czechoslovakia, too name a very few, and it isn't going to work here - September 11 proved that!
Bottom line? We should be more concerned about our own here, especially our industries. The global economy concept is a bunch of BS with the intent of beating down American wage rates and eliminating the middle class.
Mr. Keitz I am astounded by your ignorance. Please explore the FACTS before you make wrongful statements like the above!
