After a meeting with the recruiting officer, it is true that after I complete the basic training and "MOS" training, I will be posted somewhere in Canada at first.
My wife and child will be moved by the military to that location and all expenses will be paid.
As for my age, they recruit older people than me, I still have some life left in me yet! :p
How to pay my bills etc when I'm being trained was a big question that I had for him. The answer was that while in training, I would be paid. That pay can be used by my wife. Also when I leave my current job, I will be getting a severence package equall to 3.5 months sallary (before deductions). If need be, I can also get a consolodation loan to lessen the monthly bills. My bank is willing to re-mortage the house to include ALL our debt.
Also I should tell you that my wife was a Army brat for a long time and is encouraging me to sign up.
I've been told that when your a member of the forces, your part of a tight group of people that look out for each other.
