But, because he is married, his family can stay with him. You'll get BAQ (base allowance for quaters) or on base housing. So, you wouldn't be away for you're family. I thought you couldn't join after the age of 27. Could be wrong. I'm going through the same thing right now. I'm 27 and don't have a clue what I want to do for a career. My experience is in computer support, but that job market is flooded right now. Besides, I don't want to do that the rest of my life.
